Beer Pong Rules and Philosophy!!
We here at PONGSTUFF.COM believe in sportsmanship, integrity, and responsibility. We believe you should always do your best to drop your balls into your enemies' cups and nail their spirits to the wall. In fact, we believe in winning so big that your loser opponents cry all the way to McDonald's.
Official PONG® Rules:
1. OBEY ALL HOUSE RULES.
2. Elbows shall not cross the edge of the table during any throw.
3. Bounces equal two cups, and defense is certainly allowed.
4. Two re-racks per game.
5. Ten cups are better than six, unless there is a long line of anxious, impatient, and/or rowdy challengers.
6. When both players make a shot in the same turn, they get to shoot again.
7. Rebuttals: Shoot 'til you miss. Period.
These rules are in no way definitive or final.
Notice Rule #1: "OBEY ALL HOUSE RULES." That's because people in different regions play PONG® differently. Some crazy people even use paddles! Can you believe that? My favorite PONG® Rule variation:
In some houses, some people play that if a missed throw somehow comes back to the thrower, that player then gets another shot at their opponents' rack, but her or she must throw the PONG® ball behind his or her back. Sometimes the ball bounces all over the place and rolls back to the other side under the table or something. It is the defensive team's responsibility to grab that ball and not let it go all the way back. And it's really sweet when you occasionally nail a cup by tossing it behind your back!
NAKED LAP:
If one team ever beats another team with the losing team sinking exactly zero cups, the losing team must do a naked lap around the house, dormitory, apartment complex, or city block. (Yes, they must strip naked and run a full lap around the building, even if it's snowing.) This serves as prime incentive to never get shut-out.
NOTE: Remember to always put enough liquid in all the cups so that it doesn't bounce or slide all around when PONG® balls hit them.
Winners never cheat, and cheaters never win.
